Donald Trump’s doctor claimed he was in “excellent health” but encouraged him to lose weight, the White House said Friday, following the president’s annual medical exam weeks before his 80th birthday.
Republican Donald Trump, the oldest president ever inaugurated, has regularly boasted about his mental and physical stamina in comparison to his Democratic predecessor Joe Biden. However, Trump’s medical and dental check-up on Tuesday at Walter Reed Military Hospital outside Washington came after queries about his apparent tiredness in meetings and bruising on his hand.
In a report issued by the White House, Trump’s doctor, US Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, stated that the president is in excellent condition, with strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and total physical performance.
The three-page statement summarizes Trump’s physical examination and diagnostic testing, concluding that he is “fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”Preventive counseling was provided, including dietary advice, a prescription to take low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continuing weight loss,” it stated.
