The Abu Dhabi Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) showcased advanced artificial intelligence technologies within a unified system for managing monitoring operations and maintaining public appearance at its pavilion at LIVEX 2026, bolstering its efforts to transition to an “AI Native” model in city management.
Sheika Al Shehhi, a public appearance management planning analyst at the DMT, explained that the system is based on a unified smart platform that connects multiple data sources and field technologies to deliver a real-time and accurate picture of urban reality. She noted that the system contains 1,300 smart cameras spread around the Emirate’s junctions and tunnels, which automatically and continuously analyse movement and violations.
It also includes 66 inspection vehicles equipped with smart monitoring technologies, and it is distinguished by the integration of several systems to collect data from all of these sources and analyse it within a single platform, as well as link directly to inspection systems to take immediate data-driven actions, according to Al Shehhi.
