As a joint venture between the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ) and Wasl Group, Dubai CommerCity (DCC), the region’s first free zone devoted solely to digital commerce, continues to strengthen its position as an integrated platform supporting the growth of the digital economy and future commerce. With total investments topping Dhs1.8 billion, the free zone is getting ready to deliver the second phase of its development between the first quarter of 2027 and the fourth quarter of 2028.
“Phase Two of Dubai CommerCity comes at a time when Dubai continues to demonstrate its ability to grow and expand despite the changes and challenges facing the global economy,” said Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of DIEZ, referring to the expansion. The emirate has developed a development model based on resilience, competitiveness, and ongoing innovation under the direction of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vise President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai. This model allows the emirate to anticipate and seize opportunities across the global economy.
This expansion reflects the growing investor confidence in Dubai’s economic ecosystem and its ability to attract high-quality investments while providing an advanced economic infrastructure that responds to rapid shifts in emerging sectors,” he continued. In addition to strengthening the emirate’s standing as a global centre for the digital economy and future trade, it supports the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, and provides a platform for businesses to develop and expand across regional and global markets.
