According to the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), ID card fines for UAE nationals are not included in the amnesty granted to overstayers to correct their status. The ICP stated that the amnesty expires on October 30, 2024.
The Authority clarified that certain states are continuously exempt from ID card fines throughout the year, provided the applicant satisfies the requirements set forth in relation to the aforementioned exemption.
According to the ICP, those who have overstayed their visas, those who have held residence permits for longer than the allowed grace period, those who have been listed in administrative reports or have stopped working, and foreign-born infants whose parents have not verified their residence within four months of the baby’s birth are among the categories of people who can benefit from the decision.
It also exhorts anyone who have broken the UAE’s residency laws to use the grace period to change their status. This can be done by submitting the required application via the authorised typing offices and the ICP’s smart and electronic channels. It should be mentioned that there is no requirement to visit service centres, unless they are told to do so in order to provide their fingerprint identification.
