Trump Claims Israel and Iran Have Reached a Ceasefire Agreement to Halt the 12-Day War

A total truce between Israel and Iran was declared by US President Donald Trump on Monday, which might put an end to the 12-day conflict that forced millions of people to evacuate Tehran and raised concerns about future escalation in the conflict-torn area.

After claiming Tehran was on the verge of acquiring a nuclear weapon, Israel launched assaults on Iran’s nuclear facilities over the weekend, aided by the United States.

I would like to congratulate both countries, Israel and Iran, on having the stamina, courage, and intelligence to end what should be called ‘THE 12 DAY WAR,'” Trump said on his Truth Social website, assuming that all goes according to plan, which it will.

Israel has not yet responded, despite an Iranian official confirming Tehran’s agreement to a truce.

According to a senior White House official, Trump mediated the agreement with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu over the phone, and Israel had agreed as long as Iran did not launch any further assaults.

Trump seemed to indicate that a ceasefire would be implemented gradually after Israel and Iran had had time to finish any ongoing missions. Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has stated that if Iran decided to develop a nuclear weapons program, international leaders “wouldn’t be able to stop us.” Iran denies ever having such a program.
