On Tuesday, Tesla Inc. made its much-awaited debut in the third-largest automobile market in the world by opening its first showroom in India. The showroom will be Tesla’s main retail and experience location when the firm launches its EV portfolio to Indian consumers. It is situated in the Bandra-Kurla Complex, a posh commercial district in Mumbai, the country’s financial hub.
As global sales are down and the business confronts difficulties in its two main markets, China and the US, Tesla’s entry into India, which follows years of delays and legislative hurdles, represents a crucial step in expanding its customer base. Between April and June, sales of Tesla electric vehicles plummeted as consumers continued to avoid the company due to boycotts stemming from Elon Musk’s political beliefs.
