Private schools in Abu Dhabi are not allowed to turn away students with special learning needs in any situation, according to the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), as long as the school can place them in the right year group. Federal Law No. 29 of 2006 on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and its further changes are in line with this.
Students with extra learning requirements and their siblings attending the same school shall be given priority throughout the admissions process, according to the Schools Policy on Inclusion, which all schools must adhere to by the beginning of the 2025–2026 academic year. Along with providing any accommodations needed by pupils to finish the assessment procedure, parents must also submit original copies of any clinical evaluation reports completed by pertinent experts, such as pediatricians, psychologists, or psychiatrists.
Using all available information to guarantee safe and equal access to learning and physical settings for children with extra learning requirements; defining “the school’s incapacity”; and prohibiting the use of these evaluations as a basis for denial of enrollment.
