The second iteration of Dhai Dubai, the first Emirati-led light art display, will be presented at the renowned Al Wasl Plaza in November by Expo City Dubai and Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture). As Dhai Dubai transforms the conventional exhibition into a vibrant cultural movement, it is a celebration of heritage via light and creativity, co-curated by Anthony Bastic, CEO and Creative Director of AGB Creative. The event provides a groundbreaking forum for Emirati artists to present their history via modern art and is a flagship project of Expo City Dubai.
This year’s edition welcomes local and international visitors to learn how tradition continues to define and inspire modern art in Dubai. Following the success of the inaugural edition in 2024, Dhai Dubai 2025 returns with seven brand-new commissions from Emirati artists spanning three generations, including Fatma Lootah, Mohammed Kazem, Khalid AlBanna, Alia Bin Omair, AlZaina Lootah, Ahmed Al Areef Al Dhaheri, and Hessa Alghandi. Each of their works serves as a bright window into the ever-changing language of light, delving into its spiritual, emotional, and artistic meaning in Emirati culture.
With a series of artist presentations and public discussions held at House of Arts, Expo City Dubai’s newest cultural centre devoted to regional art and expression, Dhai Dubai further broadens its creative mandate.
