One of the biggest publicly traded producers of steel and building materials in the area, EMSTEEL, declared today that its steel business unit, Emirates Steel Industries, a division of EMSTEEL Group, is now the first organization in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region to be certified as a ResponsibleSteel Core Site. After a thorough assessment by CARES, a globally renowned certifying authority, the ResponsibleSteel accreditation was granted.
A thorough set of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria that represent the highest levels of moral business practices and environmental responsibility were used to evaluate Emirates Steel Industries’ performance as part of the EMSTEEL Group.
The World Steel Association (worldsteel) has designated EMSTEEL a 2025 Steel Sustainability Champion, making it the only firm in the Mena area to receive this esteemed designation for the second year in a row. This accreditation comes after another significant accolade. All of these honors collectively demonstrate EMSTEEL’s steady leadership and proactive efforts to promote sustainable steel processes.
