The Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) has reaffirmed its commitment to investing in the next generation of Emirati nuclear professionals who will propel the country’s nuclear operations forward by launching the Graduate Plant Operator (GPO) Program, which aims to develop the next generation of Emirati nuclear operations leaders.
High-achieving Emirati graduates with a bachelor’s degree in engineering (such as electrical, mechanical, nuclear, etc.) are eligible to apply for the GPO Program. It provides a special way to acquire the in-depth information, practical experience, and operational know-how required for a successful career in managing and operating nuclear energy plants.
Successful operators will advance to Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) training after three years, which is a crucial leadership position in charge of the safe operation, upkeep, and testing of plant systems.
“The Graduate Plant Operator Program is a strategic investment in our national human capital,” stated Mohamed Al Hammadi, ENEC’s president and managing director. We are establishing the UAE’s clean energy heritage by empowering today’s graduates and making sure our facility satisfies the highest national and international safety, security, and efficiency standards.
