Al Thanya Street in Dubai is to Have New Intersections and Pedestrian Walkways

The projects involve building a signalized intersection at the intersection of Street 10 and Al Thanya Street, improving pedestrian safety by creating sidewalks and installing traffic lights, and renovating the current roundabout on  Dubai Sheikh Zayed Road’s service road leading to Al Thanya Street.

To enhance the efficiency of the road network and ensure smooth traffic flow across key areas, the RTA is developing traffic solutions for Al Thanya Street, which are anticipated to be completed in early September 2025. By promoting urbanization, wealth, and population expansion, the program strengthens Dubai’s standing as a world leader in transportation and infrastructure.

The upgrades help ensure that traffic moving from Sheikh Zayed Road to Al Thanya Street moves smoothly. In addition to facilitating traffic flow, the new intersection between Street 10 and Al Thanya Street will maximize community satisfaction by cutting down on travel times for locals traveling between Umm Al Sheif and Al Manara. Along with accommodating future traffic development on Al Thanya Street, it enhances previous improvements along the service road along Sheikh Zayed Road. A signalized intersection raises safety standards and offers secure paths for bicyclists and pedestrians, while also fortifying connections with Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Wasl Road, and the nearby residential and business districts.
