
According to the 2025 Expat Insider Index released by InterNations, the UAE has secured second place globally after Spain, as one of the most attractive destinations for living and working. The ranking draws on feedback from over 10,000 expatriates representing 172 countries.
The UAE topped the world in personal security, with 87% of expats praising its political stability, compared with the global average of 56%. It also ranked first in basic services, thanks to its advanced digital infrastructure and the ease of completing government transactions online. Housing and services were highlighted as well-organised and accessible, making relocation smoother than in many other countries.
Healthcare in the UAE was ranked third worldwide for quality and sixth for availability, though costs placed it 25th. Expats also rated the country’s diverse food scene (83% satisfaction) and cultural landscape (78%) highly. In environmental and climate efforts, the UAE has reached 20th place, reflecting the government’s sustainability initiatives and access to eco-friendly products.
On employment, the UAE ranked fifth globally, recognised for its economic stability, broad job opportunities, and career development potential. Expatriates also cited a strong work culture and healthier work-life balance compared with Europe and North America.
