Future Arab Leaders are Looking for Ecological Innovations

The future leaders of the Arab world were allowed to share their valuable thoughts and insights from the perspective of youth in a powerful and unparalleled session at the 14th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF). Thirty members of the Sharjah Youth Council (Shura), the Emirati Children’s Parliament, and the Arab Parliament for the Child came together for a combined parliamentary simulation.

This session, The Voice of Children and Young People, is sponsored by (du). “Sustainability: A Duty for Future Generations” was explicitly created as a legitimate platform for policy debate, putting the opinions of those who will bear the consequences of today’s choices front and centre.

Aisha Hamid Al Khayyal, First Deputy Speaker of the Emirati Children’s Parliament; Musbah Mohammed Musbah Al-Ketbi, Member of the Sharjah Youth Shura Council; Ayman Othman Al-Barout, Secretary-General of the Arab Parliament for the Child; and Ghizlane Benjelloun, Vice President of the National Observatory for Child Rights in Morocco, participated in the discussion, which was moderated by Elias Bin Awad Bin Awad Bin Awad Bin Awad Bin Al-Thawab Bin Saif Al-Ma’ani, President of the Arab Parliament for the Child.

In his introductory remarks, Elias Bin Awad praised His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his visionary leadership in promoting the empowerment of Arab children and involving them in tackling significant societal issues. He also reaffirmed the young participants’ shared commitment to him.
