H-1B Visa Limits Increase UAE and Gulf Attraction for Global Talent

The UAE is solidifying its status as a global hub for artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, and data centers, while opportunities in fintech and logistics infrastructure continue to grow. Recent U.S. proposals to impose higher fees on H-1B visa applications are expected to further enhance the Middle East’s appeal, particularly for the UAE and Saudi Arabia, by opening doors for skilled foreign professionals.

Experts and investors told CNBC that regional governments are pushing toward fully integrated digital economies, guided by initiatives such as Saudi Vision 2030 and the UAE’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy. These programs offer a range of incentives, including long-term Golden Visas, regulatory reforms, and support for entrepreneurship, all aimed at attracting top talent.

Zachary Cefaratti, founder and chairman of Dalma Capital, noted that the UAE’s flexible labor market gives tech companies a clear advantage in recruiting international experts. He added that stricter labor rules in other countries further increase the UAE’s competitiveness as a global talent hub.

Simon Hopkins, president of Miltrust International, explained that the UAE is welcoming skilled professionals “with open arms,” while countries like the United States and the United Kingdom face challenges with restrictive immigration policies that deter global talent.
