In Brazil, 3,000 People Participate in the Zayed Charity Run

In a lively atmosphere that honoured the spirit of giving, unity, and compassion embodied by this global initiative, the Zayed Charity Run wrapped up its second stop of the 2025–2026 season on Sunday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, attracting over 3,000 runners from all over the world, including over 200 from the United Arab Emirates.

UAE runners won five of the twelve medals given out in all categories in its maiden South American appearance, including one gold, two silver, and two bronze, while Brazilian competitors took home seven. The UAE Ambassador to Brazil, Sharif Essa AlSuwaidi, honoured the winners in front of Rio de Janeiro’s top municipal officials and Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Mohamed Helal Al Kaabi, the chairman of the Zayed Charity Run’s higher organizing committee.

By continuing its mission to forge international ties through the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may his soul rest in peace a legacy based on kindness, camaraderie, and human connection, the Rio edition of the Run solidified its place as one of the world’s premier humanitarian sporting events.

As part of the Run’s objective to turn sport into a platform for hope and humanitarian effect, the proceeds from this edition will go to Rio Solidario, a prominent non-profit organisation in Brazil that supports women, families, and vulnerable children.
