A reciprocal loyalty agreement and codeshare collaboration have been established between Etihad Airways and Hong Kong Airlines. The arrival of Etihad’s first aircraft from Abu Dhabi to Hong Kong International Airport coincided with the signing of the loyalty agreement during an event in Hong Kong.
Travelers can now book Etihad “EY” services on Hong Kong Airlines flights between Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi, and they can use Hong Kong Airlines’ “HX” code to fly Etihad to Japanese destinations such as Fukuoka, Hokkaido-Sapporo, Osaka, and Okinawa.
This entails a single ticket for the whole trip, a single check-in, and automatic luggage transfers. Greater China and Japan are easily connected to the Middle East, Europe, and Africa through Abu Dhabi.
Members of Etihad Guest and Hong Kong Airlines’ Fortune Wings Club will be able to take advantage of mutual earn-and-redeem features throughout both complete networks once the program launches. In addition to allowing Fortune Wings Club members to collect and redeem on Etihad’s recently inaugurated Hong Kong service, this expands on Etihad’s current collaboration with Hainan Airlines.
