Trump Criticizes Ukraine for Having Zero Gratitude During Negotiations to End War

US President Donald Trump on Sunday renewed his accusation that Ukraine has shown “zero gratitude” for Washington’s support in its fight against Russia’s invasion. Speaking on his Truth Social platform, Trump criticized Ukrainian leadership for a lack of appreciation and also slammed European countries for not doing enough to end the war. However, he refrained from directly condemning Moscow.

The remarks came as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with senior Ukrainian officials in Geneva to discuss Trump’s controversial 28-point peace proposal aimed at ending the nearly four-year conflict. The Ukrainian delegation, led by Andriy Yermak, also held talks with officials from Britain, France, and Germany to ensure Europe has a voice in the negotiations.

Trump had initially set a deadline of November 27 for Ukraine’s acceptance of the plan, which includes significant concessions such as territorial cessions, military reductions, and a pledge never to join NATO. Kyiv is seeking changes to the draft, wary of these hardline demands. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz expressed skepticism that a deal could be finalized by the deadline.
