In 2025, the UAE Records Significant Advancements in Housing, Infrastructure, and Energy

The United Arab Emirates recorded strong progress across key sectors in 2025, including energy, infrastructure, maritime transport, housing and digital transformation, highlighting the country’s ability to align long-term planning with effective execution.

The achievements reflect a government approach focused on innovation, operational efficiency and improving quality of life, while translating national strategies into measurable outcomes that strengthen the UAE’s global competitiveness.

In the housing sector, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure issued 3,567 housing support decisions valued at Dhs2.546 billion. These included housing grants, loans and tailored financing solutions. As a result, the homeownership rate among UAE citizens reached 91 per cent, placing the country among the highest globally.

During the year, the UAE also achieved significant international recognition by winning the presidency of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) General Assembly for the first time and securing membership on its Executive Council.

In the energy sector, 2025 marked the launch of the Global Energy Efficiency Alliance, which brought together more than 40 countries and international organisations. The initiative reinforced the UAE’s leadership role in global efforts to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency.
