Over 104,000 Instances of Missing Property in Taxis are Handled by RTA

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has confirmed that its Lost and Found Team at the Call Centre handled 104,162 reports of lost items in taxis across the emirate during 2025. The cases were processed through an integrated system designed to ensure quick response and accurate follow-up. The process begins with receiving the report and verifying trip and driver details, before coordinating the safe return of items to customers in line with high standards of reliability and accuracy.

Meera Al Shaikh, Director of Customer Happiness at RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, said the work supports the authority’s broader goal of providing safe and seamless mobility through innovative and sustainable transport services that meet global customer experience standards.

She explained that RTA places customer happiness at the centre of its strategy by better understanding customer needs, developing proactive and customised services, and encouraging positive practices that improve the efficiency and sustainability of Dubai’s transport system.

Al Shaikh added that the lost property reporting framework relies on well-prepared specialist teams and strong coordination between the Call Centre, taxi companies and drivers. This is supported by smart technology systems that help safeguard passengers’ belongings and build trust in RTA services.
