Sharjah’s Ruler announced the allocation of a new residential area in Jabal Al Ashkel, near the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled, for the development of a housing neighbourhood for citizens. The project, to be called Al Ashkel Neighbourhood, will include hundreds of homes.
Speaking during a phone interview on the programme Direct Line, he said the road connecting the area to Al Rafisah will be paved. He also noted that homes built in the mountainous area will have different features compared to residences overlooking the sea.
The Ruler of Sharjah reassured residents of Khorfakkan that there is no shortage of residential land in the city, despite concerns that housing plots in the Al Harray area have been fully utilised. He revealed that 270 homes are currently under construction in two phases, including 120 homes in Al Mudeife, where land plots have already been handed over to the Department of Housing.
He added that additional plots in the Al Harray area, which were previously allocated to commercial licence holders, are now being transferred to the municipality. Construction in this area is expected to be completed within approximately two years.
