His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Khorfakkan, attended the graduation ceremony of the university’s first batch of students. The event was held at the university theatre in Khorfakkan City and celebrated the graduation of 114 male and female students.
During the ceremony, Sheikh Sultan directed that all graduates from the first cohort be offered employment, with placements aligned to their respective cities. The announcement was met with warm appreciation from graduates and their families.
In his speech, Sheikh Sultan expressed pride and happiness at seeing the first group of students complete their academic journey at the University of Khorfakkan. He congratulated the graduates on their achievement and encouraged them to act as ambassadors of knowledge and learning, carrying the university’s message in service of the nation and the wider world.
He highlighted that the University of Khorfakkan was established in 2022 as a leading academic institution inspired by the city’s unique marine and natural environment. The university offers a range of academic and research programmes, with a strong focus on marine sciences. These programmes aim to serve the people of Khorfakkan while supporting research into coastal and marine environments and the sustainable management of marine resources.
