On Friday, C.J. Roy, the founder and chairman of Confident Group, reportedly shot himself dead in his office in Bengaluru. It is not yet clear what led to the suicide. The event took place at his house on Longford Road in Bengaluru, which is in the Ashoknagar police station’s area. The Confident Group is one of the most well-known real estate enterprises in the country.
The Confident Group is a conglomerate having businesses in India, the UAE, and the USA. It was founded 19 years ago. The company is in charge of designing and building a number of well-known real estate projects in Bengaluru, Kerala, and Dubai.
The police said that the IT Department detectives came in two cars and broke into Roy’s office. Roy, who arrived to work later that day at midday, has done something really extreme: he shot himself in the chest.
According to the police, Roy shot himself with a gun. Investigators are checking to see if the event happened during the ongoing Income Tax raids. After the event, Roy’s workers took him to the hospital right after, where physicians said he was dead.
Police say that Roy’s family owns several businesses and that he was facing a number of charges. The actual motive for the suicide is still being looked into. Senior police officials quickly got to the scene and are now looking into it more.
