A Man Must Reimburse a Woman Dhs40,000 for Harassing, Insulting, And Slandering Her at Work

The Al Ain Civil, Commercial and Administrative Cases Court ordered a man to compensate a woman Dhs40,000 for stalking her on the road and at her place of employment, threatening, insulting, and defaming her on social media, and carelessly blocking her path in a way that nearly put her life in danger.

The victim had already sued the defendant, asking the court to order him to compensate her Dhs40,000 for the material, moral, and psychological damages she had suffered as a result of his illegal activities. In addition, she asked the court to order the defendant to pay 9% interest on the case from the date of the litigation until final payment, plus any fees and costs incurred.

The plaintiff argued that the defendant had seriously harmed her psychologically, morally, and materially by threatening, insulting, and defaming her on social media, pursuing her on the road and at work, and carelessly blocking her path in a way that nearly put her life in danger and damaging her car.

According to her, these episodes were the focus of a prior criminal case in which he was found guilty of insulting and threatening the victim on social media, putting her life and the lives of others in danger, and damaging her car. That court decided in his presence that he should be fined Dhs50,000,” she continued, adding that the court of appeals eventually backed the court of first instance’s decision.
