The German technology company Allied Heat Exchange AG (A-HEAT) and Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) have inked a deal to build the GCC’s largest heat exchanger production facility. The advanced facility, which Jafza plans to build, will satisfy the growing need for energy-efficient cooling options, especially for data centres that need sophisticated thermal management to improve sustainability and operating efficiency.
The built-to-suit facility, which will be run by Güntner, the flagship brand of A-HEAT, will be situated in Jafza, the flagship free zone of DP World, and span 1.2 million square feet with a built-up area of 400,000 square feet. Leading the world in heat transfer technology, Güntner has a history that dates back to Munich in 1931.
The new facility will be a major hub for manufacturing and distribution. By localising production, A-HEAT hopes to improve supply chain efficiency and enable quicker, more flexible delivery throughout Asia, Africa, India, China, and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
A-Heat Chairman Hubert Spegel, Board Member Dr. Robert Hanea, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DP World, Abdulla Bin Damithan, CEO and Managing Director of DP World GCC, Abdulla Al Hashmi, Chief Operating Officer Park & Zones of DP World GCC, and other senior executives were present when the agreement was signed in Dubai during the World Government Summit.
