Rabea Farouq Masarwah, a paramedic, was awarded by the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority for his valiant response to a mother’s emergency call when her daughter’s heart stopped beating and she needed an ambulance to save her.
When the mother needed help doing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on her daughter, Masarweh gave her precise instructions. According to reports, he kept talking to her on the phone until the ambulance came and took the youngster to the hospital for the required care.
During the ceremony, Brigadier Mohsen Saeed Al Mansouri, Director of the Emergency and Public Safety Sector, complimented Masarwah’s efforts and the high degree of efficiency and professionalism he displayed.
Al Mansouri highlighted that Masarwah reflects the great humanitarian ideals that the ambulance crews of the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority uphold.
Al Mansouri noted that such instances demonstrate a high degree of proficiency in providing primary healthcare and the total readiness for swift reaction to emergency cases, which directly helps prevent potential complications and save lives.
