Abu Dhabi Court Directs Company to Settle Employee’s Unpaid Dues of Dhs295,589

Abu Dhabi Primary Labour Court has ruled in favor of a former employee, ordering his company to pay a total of Dhs295,589 in outstanding dues. The amount covers unpaid wages and end-of-service benefits following the employee’s termination after nearly 30 years of service.

The dispute began when the employee filed a complaint with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), demanding Dhs111,007 in overdue salaries and Dhs195,000 as a gratuity. When no resolution was reached, the case was referred to court. The employee stated that he had worked for the company for three decades with a monthly salary of Dhs11,500.

The court noted that the company failed to attend the hearings or provide evidence of payment. Based on the law regulating labour relations, it ruled that the employee was entitled to Dhs182,542 in gratuity, calculated on his basic salary, along with the overdue wages. The company is now required to settle the employee’s dues fully.
