Abu Dhabi’s Airports Handled 15.8 Million Passengers in H1

In comparison to the same time in 2024, Abu Dhabi Airports reported that it handled over 15.8 million passengers between January 1st and June 30th, 2025, a significant 13.1% rise. The growth was mostly due to Zayed International Airport (AUH), which had 15.5 million passengers pass through its gates by the end of June, an increase of 13.2% over the previous year.

Additionally, 133,533 flights across the five airports in the first half of 2025—a 9.2% increase over the same time previous year—supported this increase in passenger traffic. With 93,858 aircraft movements, AUH outperformed H1 2024 by 11.4%, with 84,286 flights. Abu Dhabi Airports’ expansion plan continues to center on increasing its worldwide presence.

Air Seychelles has added six weekly flights, Fly Cham has added a route to Damascus, and China Eastern Airlines has added a four-times-weekly service to Shanghai (with daily service starting in September). In addition, IndiGo expanded its network at AUH by adding flights to Madurai, Bhubaneswar, and Vishakhapatnam, solidifying AUH’s position as the airline’s most well-connected US hub.

The commitment and teamwork of the entire Abu Dhabi Airports team is evident in the consistent positive growth that has been delivered over the last 17 quarters,” stated Elena Sorlini, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer. Our ability to adapt quickly and our dedication to providing outstanding aviation experiences, as well as attracting foreign investors, are both demonstrated by this.
