President of Airbus in Africa and the Middle East (MEA), Gabriel Sémelas, reaffirmed the company’s dedication to developing the UAE’s industrial environment, especially in the manufacturing of intricate aerostructures.
During the fourth edition of the Make it in the Emirates event, Sémelas told Emirates News Agency (WAM) that Airbus is willing to assist the training capacities associated with the A400M aircraft and localise a portion of its manufacturing in the United Arab Emirates.
He pointed out that Airbus’ involvement in the event was particularly noteworthy because it was the company’s first time participating and offered a chance to highlight the breadth of its industrial collaboration with the United Arab Emirates.
He took satisfaction in showing off a significant A350 aeroplane component—an interior wing—made locally in the United Arab Emirates, thanks to Airbus’ long-standing collaboration with Strata. Since the start of this partnership 17 years ago, UAE-made parts have been a part of every A350 aircraft that leaves the global assembly line.
Sémelas said that Airbus and the UAE have a partnership that goes beyond production and includes military, helicopters, and commercial aircraft. The business has been operating in the United Arab Emirates for over 40 years, and its relationships with all local players are constantly changing.
