French citizens were enraged on Thursday when Donald Trump mocked Emmanuel Macron and his wife by assuming a French accent and claiming that Emmanuel’s wife “treats him extremely badly.
During a private lunch on Wednesday, the US president launched his latest assault against Macron, slamming Nato partners for staying out of the war against Iran.
The assault by Trump infuriated French MPs, one of whom was critical of Macron.
