The joint tactical exercise for security agencies from Gulf Cooperation Council member states, known as Arabian Gulf Security 4, has officially begun in Qatar. The exercise includes the participation of Emirati security forces, alongside teams from other GCC countries and specialised units from the United States.
The exercise was launched under the patronage of Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force. Senior security officials from across the GCC attended the opening, including members of the exercise’s higher committees, as well as commanders and officers representing the participating forces.
Scheduled to run until February 4, 2026, the exercise will involve more than 70 field-based scenarios and over 260 hours of training. These activities focus on a wide range of security operations, including counter-terrorism, tackling organised crime, emergency response procedures, protection of key facilities, and joint command and control coordination across specialised operations centres.
Brigadier General Abdulaziz Al Ahmad, Commander of the UAE contingent participating in Arabian Gulf Security 4, said the UAE’s involvement reflects its commitment to strengthening regional security cooperation and improving collective readiness to respond to various threats.
