Austrian Authorities are Looking for Explanations Following a School Mass Shooting

In one of the bloodiest episodes of violence in Austria’s recent history, a 21-year-old shooter went on a rampage at his former high school, murdering ten people before taking his own life. Austrian investigators were looking for answers Wednesday.
According to the police, the guy, who was carrying a handgun and a shotgun, acted alone. To find out why he shot himself in a bathroom after opening fire on the school in Graz, Austria’s second city, on Tuesday, investigators are searching his house and the internet.
Paul Nitsche, a religious studies instructor at the school, said the act was difficult to comprehend. He left his classroom before the shooter attempted to enter and had a glimpse of him attempting to shoot the lock off another door. He said to the national network ORF, “This is something I couldn’t even imagine before.” As I dashed down the stairway, that’s how things were. ‘This wasn’t genuine,’ I thought.
According to the Austrian media, the unnamed young man reportedly felt bullied; however, authorities have not yet verified this. According to the authorities, the suspect did not finish his education at the institution.
