Members of the Indian business and professional community expressed great optimism about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Oman on Wednesday, describing it as a significant chance to strengthen ties between India and Oman and increase collaboration in areas like energy, manufacturing, healthcare, tourism, and logistics.
Indian business representatives told IANS in Muscat that the Prime Minister’s visit coincides with both nations’ efforts to strengthen their partnership through organized communication and a potential Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
The visit could facilitate cooperation across several industries, according to Nirmal K. Minda, Executive Chairman of Uno Minda Limited. There is a natural complementarity between India’s robust manufacturing ecosystem and Oman’s low energy costs,” Minda said.
According to him, Omani investors could consider India as a manufacturing destination under the Make in India initiative. Oman can play a crucial role as a logistics and trading hub connecting the region, including the UAE, while manufacturing in India offers access to skilled manpower, which is a challenge in Oman,” he said.
