As 2026 draws near, Abu Dhabi Police have implemented their operational plan to protect the public and control traffic during New Year’s Eve festivities throughout the emirate. Coordinated with strategic partners, the plan seeks to preserve order during one of the busiest times of the year while ensuring traffic flow, reducing traffic congestion, and protecting visitors.
The director of the Central Operations Sector, Brigadier Mohammed Dhahi Al Humeiri, clarified that, to protect public safety and security during the New Year’s celebrations, Abu Dhabi Police have established a unified security plan to secure tourist sites, commercial centers, and transportation.
The Central Operations Sector’s Directorate of Traffic and Security Patrols affirmed that it is prepared to improve traffic safety by implementing the required safeguards and measures. It also advised drivers to comply with traffic laws, obey speed limits, avoid using a phone while driving, and maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. Additionally, Abu Dhabi Police urged for adherence to the rules and cautioned the public against uncivilized behaviors including using “party spray,” driving carelessly, and making noise.
Road users were advised by Abu Dhabi Police to ensure public safety and protection as well as to create an environment that makes events and activities successful and brings joy to the people during celebrations.
