One of the most significant port modernization and extension projects in Angola began today as AD Ports Group placed the foundation stone for the Noatum Ports Luanda Terminal at the Port of Luanda.
Over the course of the 20-year concession period, which is extendable until 2055, the project is anticipated to receive a total investment of up to US$380 million, with an initial commitment of US$250 million over the first three years. Modern infrastructure, cutting-edge technology, and environmentally friendly equipment will be delivered during the 18-month construction of the Noatum Ports Luanda Terminal, making the Port of Luanda one of the most competitive ports in Central and West Africa.
The AD Ports Group owns 90% of the joint venture Noatum Unicargas Logistics, which is in charge of modernizing the fleet and managing integrated logistics operations, including refrigerated trucks and transport platforms, and 81% of the multipurpose terminal.
“The groundbreaking of the Noatum Ports-Luanda Terminal represents a pivotal moment for AD Ports Group, Angola, and the broader region,” stated Mohammed Al Tamimi, Chief Executive Officer of Noatum Ports. Our long-term plan to provide top-notch infrastructure, cutting-edge technology, and sustainable solutions that enhance trade and logistics, while also generating significant opportunities for the local community, is reflected in this flagship project.
