In 2024, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Dubai SME), which is a division of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), achieved historic milestones that strengthened Dubai’s standing as a key centre for the expansion of entrepreneurs.
The outcomes of 2024 made a substantial contribution to the growth of the SME sector and the advancement of Emirati entrepreneurship. These achievements are in line with the ambitious objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which seeks to further solidify the city’s standing as a top international business and leisure destination and double the size of the city’s economy by 2033.
Dubai SME helped 3,461 new Emirati enterprises debut in 2024, which is 524 more than the previous year. Since 2002, when Dubai SME was established, the total number of SMEs it has sponsored has reached 19,904. Additionally, 3,075 entrepreneurs received advisory services, more than doubling the number of businesses assisted in 2023. This brings the overall number of beneficiaries since 2002 to 53,206.
In keeping with the UAE’s Year of Community, which seeks to unleash the potential of people, families, and organisations through skill development, talent nurturing, and innovation and entrepreneurship, Dubai SME continues to assist domestic companies at every stage of their growth, from conception to expansion, allowing them to advance their capabilities, prosper locally, and expand internationally.
