During Ramadan, Dubai Establishes Official Working hours for Government Agencies

The Human Resources Department of the Government of Dubai (DGHR) has announced that during the Holy Month of Ramadan, employees of government agencies in Dubai will begin working Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm and on Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. According to DGHR, this will enable them to engage in the social scene and spend more time with their families during Ramadan, which falls during the Year of the Family.

Additionally, it facilitates the establishment of a remote work system for up to two days per week for individuals whose jobs permit it. According to reports, this promotes communal cohesiveness and family stability throughout the Holy Month.

According to DGHR, these actions demonstrate how the Dubai government has adopted flexible work arrangements that take into account the requirements of workers and their families, promote their mental and social health, and have a positive effect on output, job satisfaction, and the long-term viability of institutional performance.

DGHR also confirmed that government organisations must set the working hours of employees who work in shifts or whose jobs involve managing public service facilities or serving the public in a way that meets their operational needs and guarantees the efficient continuation of service delivery.
