
A critical diplomatic event took place in Abu Dhabi on the evening of July 14 when French Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Nicolas Niemtchinow hosted a reception in honour of Bastille Day, which was graced by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the Emirati Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence. In honour of the Storming of the Bastille on July 14, 1789, which represents the emergence of democratic principles in France, this yearly event is known as French National Day.
A wide range of luminaries attended the celebration, which was hosted at the magnificent Emirates Palace, a symbol of elegance and hospitality in the United Arab Emirates. Members of the Arab and foreign diplomatic corps stationed in the United Arab Emirates, Minister of State Noura Al Kaabi, and a diverse group of French residents of the United Arab Emirates were among those present. In addition to celebrating French patriotism, the occasion paid homage to the long-standing and growing relationship between France and the United Arab Emirates.
Ambassador Niemtchinow skilfully emphasised the strategic and historical importance of Franco-Emirati ties. He expressed his appreciation for the two countries’ unwavering collaboration and highlighted the development they had achieved together in several areas.
