For the 2025–2026 academic year, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) of Dubai has authorised an Education Cost Index (ECI) of 2.35 percent for the emirate’s for-profit private schools.
The decision is based on the Digital Dubai Authority’s yearly examination of audited financial accounts that private schools in Dubai submit. To provide a high-quality education, the ECI accounts for a school’s operating costs, such as personnel salaries, support services, and rental costs.
The procedures for filing requests for fee adjustments for the upcoming academic year have been communicated to all private schools in Dubai by KHDA. For-profit institutions that qualify may request an increase up to the authorised ECI, but not beyond it. A fee adjustment is not available to private schools that have been in operation in Dubai for less than three years. KHDA will examine each application to ensure it satisfies the requirements for the fee increases.
The Education Cost Index for fee adjustments is based on a strong and transparent methodology that supports schools in Dubai to manage their resources while maintaining a high quality of education in line with the needs of students and parents,” stated Shamma Al Mansouri, Director of Licensing and Education Services at KHDA.
