The 15th Sharjah Publishers Conference (SPC), which will take place in Sharjah from November 2–4, will bring together publishing professionals from around the world to discuss how changes in global marketplaces are changing business models, production, distribution, and copyrights.
The program, which will be held at Expo Centre Sharjah and organized by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), will highlight tactics for expanding Arabic and translated material and evaluate the effects of digital publishing, audiobooks, and other new media.
Leading publishers and cultural institutions will showcase their working practices at the conference through case studies and targeted conversations. The sessions will examine how publishers are adjusting to the needs of digital formats and multilingual markets, reaching new audiences, and responding to change.
By bringing together prominent voices in publishing and policy to support international conversation and industry development, the conference, which takes place in advance of the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF), shows the emirate’s expanding prominence in worldwide publishing.
According to Mansour Al Hassani, SBA’s General Coordinator of Professional Conferences, the publishing sector is changing quickly, thus publishers must continue to be flexible and aware of new developments.
