The US Embassy has released guidelines to help people avoid delays or last-minute problems when applying for visas as UAE football enthusiasts get ready to travel to the US for the FIFA World Cup in June and July 2026. The Embassy emphasized that errors on US visa forms continue to be a key source of delays and advised applicants to pay attention to correctness and documentation.
The Embassy stated that routine vetting procedures will not alter, even though ticket holders will be able to obtain priority visa interview appointments through the future Fifa Priority Appointment Scheduling System (PASS). Candidates who use the priority system must still fulfill all qualifying conditions, such as demonstrating their financial stability and having clear travel arrangements.
The Embassy acknowledged that a number of the new system’s elements are still being finalized and will soon be released to the public. Because of this, some aspects of the process are still unclear, such as how Fifa match tickets will be verified, how many priority appointments will be available, whether families may receive linked or bundled interview appointments, and whether applicants with already scheduled far-dated appointments can switch to priority slots.
