Hoor Was Named the Extraordinary Ambassador for Arab Culture

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) has named Sheikha Hoor Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President and Director of the Sharjah Art Foundation, the 2025–2026 Ambassador Extraordinary for Arab Culture in honor of her revolutionary contribution to the advancement of contemporary art and the promotion of cross-regional and international cultural exchange.

The announcement was made on Monday at a ceremony in Africa Hall, Al Manakh, Sharjah, which was attended by directors, leaders, and representatives of several Sharjah-based cultural institutions.

She has established venues that elevate Arab voices, protect cultural heritage, and foster communication across many cultures through her leadership of the Sharjah Art Foundation and several international initiatives.

Sheikha Hoor stated, “I am deeply honored to be appointed ALECSO Ambassador Extraordinary for Arab Culture,” in reference to her appointment. This acknowledgment is a result of the combined work of numerous people and organizations committed to fostering, advancing, and protecting our common cultural legacy. I’m excited to collaborate closely with ALECSO to improve cross-cultural communication and promote greater understanding both inside and beyond of the region.

The ALECSO Ambassadors for Arab Culture Program honors notable Arab individuals whose artistic and cultural achievements further the goals of the organization and showcase the diversity and depth of Arab culture.
