Yas Clinic in Khalifa City has successfully released a young Palestinian patient after a life-saving bone marrow transplant carried out under the close medical supervision of Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre (ADSCC), in a potent illustration of the UAE’s unwavering commitment to Gaza.
This demonstrates the UAE’s steadfast commitment to giving those in need access to top-notch medical treatment and is part of its humanitarian measures to aid the Gaza population, as directed by its astute leadership. After seven months in the hospital, the youngster was found to have DADA-2 deficiency, a severe and uncommon immunodeficiency that has led to several infections and serious consequences. Because of the intricacy of his condition, the kid needed long-term care in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) upon arrival.
His sister was able to fly from Gaza to act as his matched donor thanks to the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi and the hospital’s strong assistance. Despite a difficult post-operative course, the patient had remarkable fortitude and was just released in stable condition following the transplant, which was completed last month.
