The Sharjah Foundation for Supporting Entrepreneurial Projects (Ruwad) has approved financing for four new entrepreneurial initiatives in the Emirate of Sharjah, totaling Dhs 670,000. The decision was made during the 37th meeting of Ruwad’s Project Financing Committee, affiliated with the Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD).
Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Chairman of SEDD, highlighted that the Foundation’s financing support for Emirati entrepreneurs with small and medium enterprises represents a strategic investment in the national economy. He added that it empowers young people to contribute actively to sustainable development in the UAE.
Al Mahmoud also stressed Ruwad’s ongoing role in strengthening the UAE’s global entrepreneurship model and Sharjah’s reputation as a hub for creativity and innovation. “Ruwad transforms ideas into inspiring projects and ambitions into success stories,” he said, emphasizing its contribution to building a diversified, knowledge-based economy.
The approved projects include three in Sharjah and one in Kalba. By sector, three are professional (service) ventures, and one is a commercial project. Notably, three of the projects are led by Emirati women, while an Emirati male entrepreneur owns the fourth.
