Large-Scale Crystal Meth and Heroin Smuggling is Stopped by the UAE and Kuwait

Together with its Kuwaiti equivalent, the UAE Ministry of Interior (MoI) has effectively stopped the smuggling of a significant amount of heroin and shabu. The narcotics were being smuggled into Kuwait by boat when they were seized. About 100 kg of shabu and 10 kg of heroin, valued at KWD1.15 million, were found in the raid.

We are pleased to confirm that this collaboration between the UAE Ministry of Interior and its Kuwaiti counterpart reflects a shared vision to fight the drug problem and enhances mutual trust in safeguarding our communities,” the MoI said on Twitter.

Joint cooperation resulted in a tip-off that revealed the arrival of a sea container carrying drugs as part of a coordinated global network, which led to the operation’s failure. The container was tracked and the culprits were captured using a strict security procedure.

The container was permitted to depart Shuwaikh Port under careful supervision until its destination, an Afghan national, was apprehended in the Amghara region, in coordination with Kuwait’s General Administration of Customs. To maintain the integrity of security protocols and ensure the safety of individuals involved in the operation, the Kuwait Fire Force also participated in opening the container and conducting technical procedures.
