The “Advances in Nuclear Medicine: Precision Imaging and Therapy 2026” conference officially opened on Saturday in Abu Dhabi, bringing together leading experts in oncology and nuclear medicine from the UAE and around the world.
Organised by Burjeel Cancer Institute, the event attracted strong participation from physicians, consultants, and specialists, highlighting Abu Dhabi’s growing role as a regional hub for advanced healthcare and specialised medical conferences. The conference reflects ongoing efforts to align with global progress in cancer diagnosis and treatment.
More than 300 specialists attended the event, representing a wide range of medical disciplines linked to nuclear medicine. These included surgery, medical oncology, gastroenterology, urology, endocrinology, neurology, radiation oncology, bone marrow transplantation, and orthopaedics. The programme also featured contributions from several regional and international expert speakers.
The conference provided a scientific platform to explore the latest developments in nuclear medicine and its expanding role in precision diagnosis and targeted cancer therapy. Key discussions focused on advanced imaging technologies such as PET/CT and SPECT/CT, modern radiotracers, theranostic treatments, metabolic response assessment, and the integration of nuclear medicine into comprehensive oncology care pathways.
