Morgan’s discussion with Mina Al Oraibi, Editor-in-Chief of The National, at the Arab Media Summit on Wednesday covered a wide range of topics, from appreciation for Dubai’s remarkable development to a harsh assessment of global media issues. These topics included ambition, truth, controversy, and the future of journalism. He was giving a speech on the third and last day of the Dubai Press Club-organised Summit.
The topic of discussion was the controversy surrounding his reporting on the war in Gaza. Morgan underlined, “I’m here for ‘The Truth,’ not to take sides. Morgan brought up his discussion with comedian Bassem Youssef, which went viral and received over 22 million views, in response to Al Oraibi’s comment regarding his growing influence in the Middle East. “That instance demonstrated to us that everyone was observing.
