During the New Year’s Festivities, Ras Al Khaimah Smashes the Guinness World Record

With a 15-minute drone and fireworks show on New Year’s Eve 2026, Ras Al Khaimah established a new Guinness World Records title for the biggest aerial display of a phoenix made of multirotor drones.

A massive drone display that turned the night sky into a variety of animated shapes above the emirate’s shoreline served as the celebration’s focal point. A record-breaking phoenix, a legendary emblem of rebirth and renewal, made with 2,300 drones was the main attraction. Among them were 1,000 pyro drones that lighted the phoenix’s wings, giving the impression that it was flying across the sky.

The drone show changed into a meticulously planned fireworks countdown as midnight drew near, culminating in a six-kilometer spectacle that stretched from Marjan Island to Al Hamra down the coast. A coordinated explosion of color and sound illuminated the coastline as hundreds of fireworks were sent off in waves.

Thousands of locals and tourists flocked to the New Year’s Eve Festival and beachside resorts to witness the festivities, which included entertainment and live stage shows all night long. Families in the emirate took in another fireworks show at Corniche Al Qawasim earlier in the evening.
