Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, has invited residents across the UAE to tune in to national media channels at 11:00am on Saturday to mark the Day of Solidarity.
In a post on his official X account, Sheikh Hamdan encouraged the community to listen to the national anthem at the designated time as a moment to reaffirm unity and commitment to the nation. He said the occasion offers an opportunity to renew collective determination to continue advancing and elevating the country.
On January 17 each year, we reflect on the resolve, unity and solidarity shown by the people of the UAE, standing proudly behind the national flag to protect the nation’s achievements and uphold its global standing,” he wrote.
Observed annually, the Day of Solidarity highlights the values of national cohesion, determination and unity, while reaffirming the UAE’s continued support for its leadership and armed forces.
Also referred to as the Day of Resolve, the occasion honours a legacy of sacrifice and reflects the UAE’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian values, tolerance and peace. The country’s firm stance against terrorism is rooted in the belief that confronting extremist ideologies is a shared global responsibility.
