The Arabic Language Academy Sends a Delegation to Sheikh Sultan in Beirut

His Highness A delegation of the founders of the Sharjah Arabic Language Academy (ALA) in Beirut, Lebanon, led by Drs. Emile Badi Yaqub and Rashid Darbas, were welcomed on Sunday at the Dr. Sultan Al Qasimi Center in University City by Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, President of the ALA and a member of the Supreme Council.

Sheikh Sultan greeted the group at the start of the meeting and congratulated them on the Arabic Language Academy’s founding in Beirut and the start of its collaboration with Sharjah. Sheikh Sultan highlighted Lebanon’s long history of Arabic literature and culture, as well as the notable contributions of its writers and intellectuals across a range of artistic and creative domains.

He reaffirmed his support for the Academy, enabling it to play essential roles in its areas of expertise, and wished its members the best of luck in achieving their goals of promoting the propagation and preservation of the Arabic language and its history.

Sheikh Sultan also emphasized the importance of communication among Arabic-language academies across the Arab world, which helps them achieve their goals in supporting the Arabic language across its many domains, including publishing, documentation, scientific research, and knowledge and cultural exchange.
