
His Majesty On Sunday, Hideaki Omura, the governor of Aichi Prefecture in Japan, was welcomed at Al Badi’ Palace by Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the ruler of Sharjah and a member of the Supreme Council.
Sheikh Sultan greeted the Governor and his group with great warmth at the start of the meeting. They had a cordial discussion on issues of shared interest and developed bilateral ties in the areas of the arts, artist assistance, and talent development.
The Japanese delegation presented the Ruler of Sharjah with Aichi Prefecture’s cultural activities, including the sixth edition of the Aichi Triennale, which is scheduled for this September.
Additionally, the selection of Sheikha Hoor Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the Sharjah Architecture Triennial, as the Aichi Triennale’s Artistic Director was revealed. The Japanese group, led by Hideaki Omura, expressed joy at visiting Sharjah and thanked the Sheikh Sultan for the kind greeting.
They praised Sheikh Sultan’s ongoing support of the arts and other programs that uplift the standing of art and give artists more authority. Sheikha Hoor Bint Sultan Al Qasimi was also commended by the delegation chairman for her vast expertise and innovative work in the field of modern art, both domestically and internationally.
